Oregon Symphony Portland Concert reviews
George Thorogood & The Destroyers
Two years ago, my wife and I saw Oregon Symphony at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA. The show was absolutely awesome! We saw Oregon Symphony again at Hampton Beach's Casino Ballroom on Aug. 4th, 2026. To top it off, my wife, my sister, and I had to try to peek around a guy the size of a barn door who just wouldn't sit his butt down. He's a great artist and a great entertainer, but for us, the show was a bit disappointing. They just didn't seem sharp. I asked him politely if he would sit down so we could see and like a stubborn little girl (or boy for that matter), in a highly pitched voice he flatly said "No". At that point I just wanted to knock him on his "you know what", but it just wasn't worth starting trouble and getting arrested. It wasn't like he couldn't see the band as no one else was standing in front of him. Finally, his wife convinced him to sit down and we were able to see. The show was OK, but George didn't quite seem to be himself. I mean really, the guy was acting like a 16-year-old girl who was seeing the "Beatles" for the first time. After all, when you pay for the seat, why not SIT IN IT! I'd see Oregon Symphony again anytime, but probably not at the Casino Ballroom, unless we reserved our seats in the back where the venue can be seen a bit higher above the heads of people who just can't sit down.
